Configuring Keyconfig To Call Xpunge
Xpunge provides toolbar buttons for each of the "Xpunge" and "MultiXpunge" functions. However, some people may find using the
keyboard more convenient, so this page contains instructions on how to assign a keyboard shortcut to the Xpunge functions
using the keyconfig extension.
After installing keyconfig, follow the steps below to create the shortcuts.
- Open the keyconfig editor from the entry in the Tools menu.
- Click on the "Add a new key" button at the bottom.
- Give a name for the shortcut.
- Replace "/* CODE */" with "xpunge_doSingle();" (without the quotes) for "Xpunge" or "xpunge_doMultiple();" (without the quotes) for "MultiXpunge".
- Click "OK" to close the window.
- Find and select the new shortcut in the list on the editor window (at this point it should have no shortcut assigned to it).
- Click inside the empty textbox to the left of the "Apply" button.
- Press the shortcut combination on the keyboard. It should automatically appear inside the textbox in readable form.
- Click on the "Apply" button. The shortcut combination should appear next to the name of the shortcut in the list.
- Click on the "Close" button to close the keyconfig window.
- Restart Thunderbird.
If you want to remove or disable a shortcut, follow the steps below.
- Open the keyconfig editor from the entry in the Tools menu.
- Find and select the shortcut in the list on the editor window.
- Click on the "Reset" button (to completely remove the shortcut from the list) or the "Disable" button (to just clear the assigned keyboard shortcut).
- Click on the "Close" button to close the keyconfig window.
- Restart Thunderbird.
